BJD put the squeeze on clinical waste
BJD Crushers Ltd, the specialist designer and manufacturer of size reduction equipment, has announced the development of an Apron Compression Feeder, designed for volume reduction of waste in-feed material to optimise the efficiency of secondary processes.
The BJD 1000 Series Apron Compression Plate Feeder is ideal for compressing and reducing the volume of hazardous clinical waste including ‘sharps’ containers and fluid containers immediately prior to sterilization of the waste by Auto Clave.
The 1000 Series works by subjecting material to a flattening action. This achieved by means of an inclined continuously moving apron track which converges towards a static feeder plate; between the two, materials is squeezed to provide a compressed product which helps increase the capacity of subsequent processes.
